Real Care Support is a trusted UK provider of high quality, residential support for children and young people.

All of our services are built around the child, using a person centred approach. We ensure that the care experience is consistent across homes and teams, guided by shared values and a unified model of practice.

We work collaboratively with social workers, parents, teachers and other professionals to develop support plans that are realistic, engaging and motivational. Our focus is always on what works best for each child’s development, wellbeing and long term success.

Our Approach to Care

At Real Care Support, we provide unconditional acceptance and compassionate care for every young person. We see each child as an individual and offer consistent emotional support while also helping them reflect on behaviours that may pose risks to themselves or others.

We believe in the power of strong, trusting relationships. Our teams work alongside young people, sharing everyday experiences and building meaningful connections that support growth and change.

Our goal is to help every young person believe in their own potential and feel hopeful about their future. We support them in recognising their strengths, developing their skills and working towards personal goals.

The People Behind the Service

We provide a professional, person-centred service with a strong focus on continuity, consistency and high standards. Every young person deserves to be supported by someone who not only understands their needs but is committed to helping them move forward.

At Real Care Support, our staff are selected for both their professional experience and their ability to build meaningful, respectful relationships. They bring a wide range of skills and real-world understanding to every situation.

Our team includes:

Experienced Residential Care Workers who understand the impact of trauma and instability
Former Police Officers and Youth Offending Practitioners trained in de-escalation and risk management
Health Care Professionals who have supported young people with complex physical and mental health needs

They have worked with young people experiencing:

Emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD)
Mental health conditions
Child sexual exploitation (CSE)
Self-harm and suicidal ideation
Drug and alcohol misuse
County lines exploitation and gang involvement

All staff undergo thorough vetting and receive ongoing training to ensure they are fully prepared and supported in their role.

This blend of diverse backgrounds and shared values is what enables us to respond effectively in complex, high-pressure environments and always with the child at the centre.

The key aim is to provide a stepping stone for them to achieve their future goals through signposting, support and meeting key social and educational needs.

We are always looking for new ways to exceed the standards laid out in the Children’s Home Regulations while providing the safest environment for our Young People to learn and grow.

DEVELOP OUR STAFF INTO RESIDENTIAL LEADERS OF TOMORROW

We aim to develop the next generation of residential leaders through the fostering of an ever-learning environment where personalised training plans, mentorship programmes and learning led supervisions are at the forefront of our practice. We will use all the tools at our disposal to develop all of our staff into thoughtful, reflective and child-focused practitioners, carer’s and leaders.

CREATE WARM, MODERN & WELCOMING HOMES

We aim to provide our young people with warm, modern and welcoming homes. We will do this through the purchasing and refurbishment of suitable properties, using high quality furnishings and fittings and most importantly, having our managers, staff and young people have their say in the decoration of the home. With a personal touch in decorations and furnishings comes a pride of place. We want all our managers and staff to build their home to a standard that they would be happy to live and work in every day, and we want our young people to be proud to call our properties, home.

RAISE THE STANDARD OF CHILDREN’S HOMES

We aim to raise the standard of Children’s Homes through a three-pronged approach that encompasses pro-active and reflective learning, innovation and the constant pursuit for the best possible outcomes. By utilising all of the tools at our disposal, we can help raise the standards within our own homes and become a model for Children’s Homes of the future.

Andrea Cox

Operations Manager & Responsible Individual

Andrea brings over 30 years of experience in the social care sector, with the past 26 years focused on residential childcare. Starting her career as a residential care worker, she progressed to senior roles including Registered Manager, Regional Manager and Chief Operating Officer.

Throughout her career, Andrea has led services to achieve Outstanding Ofsted ratings and has successfully turned around homes rated Inadequate to Good. Her experience spans a wide range of residential settings, including homes for children with autism (ASD), emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), therapeutic models, crisis care and solo placements.

Andrea is deeply committed to staff development. She ensures teams are well-equipped with the right skills, knowledge and understanding of the legislation and policies that guide high-quality care. Her responsibilities also include overseeing budgets, service delivery, occupancy and relationships with key stakeholders.

Her vision is clear: to embed quality in every part of the service through effective training, support and a strong focus on outcomes. Andrea believes that every young person’s journey is shaped by the people who care for them. Her leadership is centred around building positive relationships and creating opportunities for children to grow, learn and thrive.

Rebecca Meehan

Managing Director and Head of HR

BA Hons, MSc, MCIPD.

Rebecca Meehan is the Managing Director and Head of HR at Real Care Support. She joined the organisation in 2019 and has since played a central role in shaping its people strategy, values and culture. With over 15 years of experience in human resources, Rebecca brings a well-rounded perspective drawn from a variety of sectors including large multinational blue-chip organisations such as De La Rue and BAE Systems, as well as public sector bodies like Lancashire County Council.

Rebecca holds a BA (Hons) in Business, a Master’s degree in Human Resources and is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). She is also a certified Mental Health First Aider, underscoring her commitment to wellbeing at every level of the organisation.

Her leadership focuses on aligning Real Care Support’s HR function with its wider strategic goals. She leads on recruitment, training, staff development, compliance and organisational design all with a firm focus on delivering consistent, high-quality care for young people. Rebecca believes that creating a resilient, well-trained and motivated workforce is critical to the delivery of safe, therapeutic and impactful residential care.

Under her guidance, Real Care Support has implemented a robust recruitment and training model designed to attract the right people, support their professional growth and embed the company’s child centred ethos into everyday practice. Rebecca works closely with operational leaders and care staff to ensure HR practices are responsive, inclusive and grounded in real world needs.

She is passionate about ensuring every member of staff feels empowered to contribute to the shared mission; helping young people feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
